New experiences

Yesterday we used Adobe Connect and it was definitely a valuable experience for me. I had never even heard of this program until yesterday. I was really proud of myself for being able to figure out some of it on my own. I think it could be a real asset to libraries and for those taking distance classes. Libraries could communicate with others and collaberate with libraries out of state even. I think it is really exciting to be exposed to new technology and how it benefits us as future professionals. With the advancing technology I think the role of libraries and librarians becomes even more of a neccesity. People can learn all of the ins and outs of computers and the hardware and how to surf the Internet but they still need someone with a little bit of expertise to help them sort through it all. Thank goodness for libraries.
